Monday
Read the short story "The Gift of the Magi"

Introduce literary terms: symbolism, irony, allusion, foreshadowing, figurative language, etc
Complete vocabulary worksheet, define, use in sentences, identify in context of story.

Tuesday
Discuss literary terms. Have students identify examples of them in text.
In groups have students identify symbols of 3 from the text.
Complete "Gift of the Magi" Persuasive Writing Prompt

Wednesday
Work on project in pairs using Goanime.com.
Students will complete storyboard in class. ( think about characterization, plot, tone, irony, etc)

Quiz on Vocabulary Words
